This one didn't *seem* like a lot of line work when I started it. But my hand was really sore the next day (I inked this one in right after the ink dried on my In a Row piece). Lots of noodle work, but it was fun and I was smiling the entire time.
very cool scene. a lot of your compositions remind me of matta paintings for some reason. are those little critters supposed to be lightbulb people, btw?
I hadn't thought of it, but you could be right. Especially Matta's more monochrome work. He had lots of little scenes with what appeared to be platforms and doorways.
The little critters are perhaps "lightbulb-esque". They share the form but they lack the little screw threads on their bodies. Also, a couple of them have dark skin.
I'm working to turn him and his friends into moving sculptures. It's a slow go. Gears are hard but INTERNAL gears are especially so. But where there's a will...
It's really just a couple of tricks of perspective and line quality (closer lines thicker, distant lines thinner).
